David Tilson Sworn In As Dufferin-Caledon M.P.

Ottawa, ON – David Tilson was officially sworn in as the Member of Parliament for Dufferin-Caledon during a ceremony at the House of Commons in Ottawa on May 25, 2011. The ceremony was conducted by the deputy clerk and was attended by Mr. Tilson’s family.

Mr. Tilson was re-elected in general election of May 2, 2011, following the 37 day campaign. First elected in 2004, Mr. Tilson was re-elected in 2006 and 2008. During the most recent Parliament, Mr. Tilson served as Chair of the Standing Committee on Citizenship and Immigration and as the President of the Canada-Europe Parliamentary Association.

“I am grateful for the support of the citizens of Dufferin-Caledon, who have again asked me to serve as their representative in Ottawa,” said Mr. Tilson following the ceremony. “I am looking forward to getting back to work this week with the Speech from the Throne which will lay out the government’s plan to stay focused on the economy and jobs.”
