PARLIAMENT HILL – David Tilson, Member of Parliament for Dufferin-Caledon, rose in the House of Commons today, to recognize four students from Centre Dufferin District High School (CDDHS) and their teacher, who completed a two-year project to rededicate a new War Memorial at the school.

In his statement, Mr. Tilson individually acknowledged each of the students and their teacher, “Mr. Speaker, I rise in the House today to recognize four exceptional students: Alissa Droog, Alexandra Berry, Sarah Callaghan, Corah-Lynn Hodgson, and their dedicated teacher, Mr. Neil Orford.

The students’ goal of honouring former students of CDHHS who served or are currently serving in Canada’s Armed Forces was realized on November 10, 2010, during a special ceremony where the new granite War Memorial was unveiled.

Mr. Tilson concluded his statement with following message, “On behalf of the residents of Dufferin-Caledon and most especially the veterans of the Shelburne Royal Canadian Legion, I sincerely commend these four outstanding students and their enthusiastic teacher for giving our community a special and enduring tribute to veterans, active service personnel, and Dufferin military history.”
