BOLTON, ON – David Tilson, the Member of Parliament for Dufferin-Caledon, recently visited George Berney of Berney’s Pro Hardware, in Caledon East. Mr. Berney was presented the “Gold Hammer” and plaque by Canwel Hardware Distributor, in recognition of his 50 years in the hardware business.

Mr. Berney’s father also received this same honour in 1980. After presenting Mr. Berney with a congratulatory certificate, Mr. Tilson commented, “I’m sure this is an uncommon occurrence where both father and son have received the same recognition.” Mr. Tilson went on to say, “This latest honour adds to the many milestones and achievements of this remarkable family business. In 2006, Berney’s Pro Hardware celebrated its 125th anniversary in the hardware business. It has become an integral part of our community and I wish it many more years of success.”
