BOLTON – David Tilson, the Member of Parliament for Dufferin-Caledon, visited Canadian Forces Base (CFB) Borden, Ontario, on Thursday, July 24th, to participate in “ExecuTrek,” through the Canadian Forces Liaison Council.
ExecuTrek is a trip to a military base or unit to observe members of Canada’s Reserve Force in action and provides participants with the opportunity to speak directly with the reservists and better appreciate their unique skills.
During his visit to CFB Borden, Mr. Tilson toured CFB Borden Units and observed reservists, visited range and training areas, participated in a confidence course challenge, viewed a Leopard Tank, and experienced a ride in a personnel carrier. Following a traditional field lunch, Mr. Tilson received a briefing on the aerospace engineering training that is conducted by the Canadian Forces School of Aerospace Technology and Engineering (CFSATE).
Mr. Tilson was available to comment on the events of the day, “This was an outstanding and enlightening experience. I sincerely appreciate the efforts of the Canadian Forces Liaison Council and Colonel Bill Coyle for extending this opportunity to me and all of those representing the public and private sectors today. I’m sure we all have a much better awareness of the remarkable talents and many skills our reservists contribute to the Canadian Forces and to the organizations they are employed by.”
