M.P. Tilson draws crowd at Seniors Information Expo

ORANGEVILLE, ON – David Tilson, Member of Parliament for Dufferin-Caledon hosted a Seniors Information Expo, on Friday, October 13th, at the Orangeville and District Senior Citizens’ Centre. Mr. Tilson co-hosted the annual event with the Seniors’ Centre. Approximately 50 local residents came out for the Expo and listened to the presenters, who spoke on various senior-related topics including: Tax Information for Seniors, Income Securities, Health for Seniors, and Community Services. Special guest speakers included representatives from Service Canada, the Canada Revenue Agency, Rolling Hills Pharmacy, as well as Telecheck and Dufferin Network.

Mr. Tilson acted as the Master of Ceremonies for the Expo and later said, “I think the topics covered today are important and definitely relevant to our local senior citizens. It is my hope that everyone who attended the Expo gained valuable information that will help to improve their quality of life and make it a little easier.” Mr. Tilson also thanked the Seniors’ Centre for working with his staff, to ensure the Expo was a success.

Rogers Cable was also present at the expo and filmed the presentations, to be aired at a later date on local television, as a public service.
