BOLTON, ON – David Tilson, Member of Parliament for Dufferin-Caledon, congratulated the Region of Peel on being awarded the National Quality Institute’s (NQI) Canada Awards for Excellence (CAE) Gold Trophy, at its Regional Council meeting, held on Thursday, October 26th.
The Region of Peel has become the first government in Canada to earn this prestigious award that recognizes Canadian organizations, which through a commitment to innovation, productivity, a healthy workplace, and ethics, have demonstrated sustainable measures of continuous improvement.
Mr. Tilson addressed Council and congratulated the Region of Peel’s Chairman, Emil Kolb, all Regional councillors, and staff. In addition, Mr. Tilson also brought greetings on behalf of Prime Minister Harper and the Government of Canada.
Following the presentation to Council, Mr. Tilson was asked to comment on the Region being the first government in Canada to receive this coveted award. He responded, “The Region of Peel, its councillors, and staff should be very proud of this tremendous achievement. The award demonstrates the Region’s commitment and dedication towards a customer-focused organization that always works towards continuous improvement and service excellence.”
