PARIS, FRANCE – A delegation of Canadian parliamentarians led by David Tilson, Member of Parliament for Dufferin - Caledon, met in Paris yesterday with the Canadian Ambassador to France, Marc Lortie.
The meeting took place at the Canadian Embassy, in Paris, where the Ambassador and Mr. Tilson discussed such subjects as agricultural subsidies and the Canada-European Summit (which will be held in Montreal this October). The delegates and the Ambassador also discussed defense, Afghanistan, climate change, the referendum in Ireland, energy, immigration, the economy in Europe, and the potential of a union of Mediterranean countries.
Following the meeting, Mr. Tilson made the following comment, "The meetings were most productive in furthering Canadian - European relations. The issues of agriculture and immigration are of great importance to my riding. Our Government has worked hard to tackle these issues which were neglected for far too long by previous governments."
