Bolton, Ontario
– David Tilson, Member of Parliament for Dufferin-Caledon, laid a wreath today on behalf of the House of Commons, at the site of the Menin Gate Memorial, in Ypres, Belgium.

Mr. Tilson is currently, in Belgium, leading an all-party parliamentary delegation to the European Union. The delegation traveled from Brussels to Ypres for the Remembrance ceremony, which included the Canadian Ambassador to Belgium, members of the Canadian Forces, as well as a delegation comprised of members from the Senate of Canada.

Following the ceremony, Mr. Tilson remarked, “Being present at this Remembrance service was an immensely moving reminder of the tremendous sacrifice made by thousands of young men and women for freedom and democracy. By laying a wreath with ribbons from the various Legions found throughout Dufferin-Caledon, we are demonstrating our appreciation and remembrance of those many sacrifices.”
Following their visit to Menin Gate, the delegation then traveled to Tyne Cot Commonwealth War Graves Cemetery and Memorial to the Missing, near Passchendaele, Belgium, where a group wreath was laid from the Canadian delegations.
