Tilson meets with Holy Family Catholic Church Delegation

BOLTON, ON – On Friday, May 7th, David Tilson, Member of Parliament for Dufferin-Caledon, met with a delegation from Holy Family Catholic Church, in Bolton. The Church located on Allan Drive, met with Mr. Tilson to discuss several social justice issues and to present 288 signed petition cards from members of the parish, expressing their support for small-scale, sustainable agriculture in the Global South.

During their meeting with Mr. Tilson, the delegation, including Father Larry Leger, raised concerns with respect to the ongoing issue of mining practices in developing countries; poverty and homelessness across Canada and in the Region of Peel; farming practices; as well as food production and its relationship to increasing obesity in North America. 

Following his meeting, Mr. Tilson said, “I was pleased to meet with the delegation from Holy Family Catholic Church again this year. I appreciate the many issues they’ve brought to my attention on behalf of the members of their parish, as these members are also my constituents.” Mr. Tilson went on to say, “After being presented petition cards from 288 families, it is clear these are important issues to many constituents and I’m pleased to take their message back to Ottawa and to the Prime Minister.”
