PM participates in 2009 Calgary Stampede festivities

Prime Minister Stephen Harper is in Calgary to attend the 2009 Calgary Stampede. The Prime Minister attended the 2009 Stampede President’s Reception. He will also host his annual Calgary Southwest Stampede BBQ. “For close to a century, the Stampede has been at the centre of the Calgary summer and we wouldn’t have it any other way,” said the Prime Minister. “The Stampede is the most spectacular rodeo you will find anywhere. It showcases the very best of our city to the world.” The 2009 Calgary Stampede, “The Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth,” runs from July 3-12. More than a million people are expected to attend the Stampede during the ten day exhibition. |
