Tilson Meets Miss Canada

December 15, 2021
OTTAWA – David Tilson, Member of Parliament for Dufferin-Caledon, recently met with Miss Tara Teng, Miss Canada 2011, at an event in Ottawa.

“Tara is a delightful young woman whose campaign against human trafficking is an inspiration,” said Mr. Tilson. “She’s a woman of prominence who is using her stature to fight one of the world’s great scourges: human slavery and trafficking.”

Until recently a student at Trinity Western University, Miss Teng is now an assistant to Mr. Tilson’s seatmate in the House of Commons, Ms. Joy Smith, Member of Parliament for Kildonan-St. Paul in Manitoba. Ms. Smith is herself a tireless champion in the fight to stop human trafficking, having had a Private Members Bill (C-268) passed on this important matter in the last Parliament.

“I’m very pleased that my colleague Joy Smith has such able and prominent help in her ongoing battle against human trafficking,” stated Mr. Tilson.
