Tilson Hosts 9th Caledon East Seniors Expo
CALEDON EAST, ON – David Tilson, Member of Parliament for Dufferin-Caledon, hosted his ninth annual Caledon East Seniors Information Expo, together with the Caledon Seniors’ Council, today at St. James Anglican Church in Caledon East.
“Today, we heard outstanding presentations on a wide range of topics of importance to the local senior community, given by experts in their respective fields,” said Mr. Tilson. “I’m sure each attendee took away something valuable that will prove to be helpful. I would also like to thank the Caledon Seniors’ Council for working with my office to deliver this annual event to the community for the ninth year.”
Members of the Caledon Seniors’ Council, as well as local residents, attended the Expo to listen to presentations on four topics, which included: Introduction to Geriatrics; Bringing Health Care Home: Home and Community Care in the Central West LHIN; Benefits of Modern Hearing Aid Technology; as well as Connecting disAbilities. Following the presentations, Egan Funeral Home provided lunch for attendees.
Special guest speakers on the selected topics included: Phil Lian H. Sun (Caledon East Guardian Pharmacy); Trudy Mulder-Hall (Volunteer, Central West Local Health Integration Network); Anika Cai (Lifestyle Hearing and Helix Hearing Care – Bolton); and Ernest Kolenda (MPowered disAbility Corporation).
Mr. Tilson performed the role of emcee for the event.
