Tilson Hosts 10th Annual Caledon East Seniors Expo
CALEDON EAST, ON – David Tilson, Member of Parliament for Dufferin-Caledon, hosted his tenth annual Caledon East Seniors Information Expo, together with the Caledon Seniors’ Council, today at St. James Anglican Church in Caledon East.
“It’s been a pleasure working with the Caledon Seniors’ Council to deliver helpful, relevant information on topics of importance to our local senior community for the last 10 years,” said Mr. Tilson. “The very experienced and knowledgeable speakers who presented here today provided tremendous insight on a wide range of issues that will surely assist older adults in our community to live healthy, active, and engaged lives. I applaud all of the speakers in taking the time to share their expertise with everyone.”
Members of the Caledon Seniors’ Council, as well as local residents, attended the Expo to observe presentations on four topics, which included: Are Superfoods Really That Super? Navigating the biggest health claims of supplements and so called ‘superfoods;’ Falls Prevention and Home Care; Working Together to Keep Our Drivers Safe; and Home Safety & Assistive Devices for Seniors. Following the presentations, Egan Funeral Home provided lunch for attendees.
Special guest speakers on the selected topics included: Dr. Danielle M. Sinclair, N.D. (Health First Wellness Centre); Yogeeta Jhodhan (Bayshore Home Health); Eva Georgiou (Serco Canada Inc. (DriveTest)); Melissa Brabant (Ministry of Transportation); and Paul Oxby (Ontario Home Health).
Mr. Tilson performed the role of emcee for the event.
