Tilson Honours Lions' 65th Anniversary
BOLTON, ON - David Tilson, Member of Parliament for Dufferin-Caledon, today rose in the House of Commons to congratulate the Orangeville Lions Club on their 65th anniversary.
“Mr. Speaker, today I have the honour of recognizing the sixty-fifth anniversary of the Orangeville Lions Club.
We can thank the Lions for: initiating school crossing guards in Orangeville in 1950; selling light bulbs with proceeds going to children’s books at our public library; the infamous Lions TV Bingo; supporting the construction of the Tony Rose Arena; donating over $600,000 to Headwaters Hospital; constructing the Lions BMX Park; hosting the annual Home and Garden Show, as well as Lobsterfest; and the building of Murray’s Mountain.
This is just a small overview of the many outstanding contributions this exceptional Club has given to our most appreciative community.
On behalf of the residents of Dufferin-Caledon, I would like to sincerely congratulate the Orangeville Lions Club on this milestone and thank all of the members for the excellent work they perform to make our community a better place.”
