Tilson Announces Funding for Blues and Jazz

ORANGEVILLE, Ontario: David Tilson, Member of Parliament for Dufferin-Caledon, today announced at the February Blues and Jazz Bash, $30,700 in federal funding to support the 12th edition of the Orangeville Blues and Jazz Festival.
“By investing in the Orangeville Blues and Jazz Festival, the Government of Canada is showing its support for an event that draws thousands to Orangeville, boosting the local economy while giving spectators a unique cultural experience” said Tilson.”
This year the festival expects 33,000 visitors to experience a broad and eclectic range of blues and jazz music in Orangeville’s historic downtown core from June 5 to 8, 2014.
Larry Kurtz, Founder and Artistic Director, Orangeville Blues and Jazz Festival said “the Festival is pleased to receive significant support from the Government of Canada. With this support the Festival is able to offer increased local talent, a key element of our success.”
