Remembering the Sacrifices of Canada’s Veterans

October 29, 2021

Dear Editor,

Canada’s Veterans have served our country with great courage and determination. Throughout our nation’s history, Canadian men and women in uniform have bravely fought tyranny and evil around the world, defending the values we cherish as a nation. On Remembrance Day, we pause to remember their tremendous sacrifices and achievements.

Notably, 2014 marks the 70th anniversary of D-Day, the centenary of the beginning of World War I and the conclusion of Canada’s military mission in Afghanistan. As we commemorate these important milestones in our proud military history, we are reminded of our eternal gratitude for Canada’s Veterans who at great personal costs and for some even the ultimate sacrifice, fought to defend freedom, democracy and the rule of law.

Because of their selflessness, we continue to live in peace and security. This Remembrance Day, our Government invites all Canadians to join us in paying tribute and honour to Canada’s Veterans.

Lest we forget.

Sincerely,

David Tilson, Q.C., M.P.
