OTTAWA - David Tilson, MP for Dufferin Caledon, joined fellow MPs in celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Grey Cup during events in Ottawa on October 24th.

Mr. Tilson had the opportunity to meet with CFL Commissioner Mark Cohon, who brought the Cup to Parliament Hill as part of the cross-country anniversary celebrations.

“The Grey Cup’s 100th anniversary is a wonderful opportunity for all Canadians to celebrate our particular brand of football,” said Mr. Tilson. “The passion we have for the game is represented by this great trophy and it inspires excitement and pride wherever it goes.”

Later in the day, following Question Period, the Cup was brought into the House of Commons chamber by CFL Hall of Fame quarterback legend Russ Jackson, to great applause by MPs from all parties. The Speaker of the House, Andrew Scheer, spoke about the Cup’s storied history and the significance of the anniversary for Canadians all over the country.

“I’m looking forward to the Grey Cup game on November 25th with great anticipation,” concluded Mr. Tilson.
