Government of Canada supports improvements to Mono’s Community Infrastructure

MP Tilson Celebrates Local Benefits of the Community Infrastructure Improvement Fund in Ontario

Mono, Ontario – Across the country, community centres, cultural centres, ice rinks, swimming pools, and other community projects will soon be improved thanks to support from the Government of Canada’s Community Infrastructure Improvement Fund (CIIF).

As part of the Government’s Economic Action Plan 2012, David Tilson, Member of Parliament for Dufferin-Caledon, today announced $120,020 in federal funding for accessibility and lighting upgrades under the Fund for the Monora Park Community Centre.

“Our Government, through the Community Infrastructure Improvement Fund, is demonstrating its continued support for communities across Canada,” said Tilson. “Here in Mono, these local projects will help create jobs, growth and long-term prosperity in our community.

Through the Community Infrastructure Improvement Fund, the Government of Canada has committed to supporting communities and creating jobs through repairs and improvements to existing community facilities over the next two years. Please see the backgrounder for more information on CIIF.
