Government of Canada Launches New Mobile App for Veterans’ Week

November 06, 2021

Ottawa — The Honourable Steven Blaney, Minister of Veterans Affairs, today announced the official launch of Veterans Matter, a new social media app for mobile users. The mobile app offers a new way for Canada's Veterans and their families to get the information they need on services and offers Canadians a new way to keep the torch of remembrance alive.

"During Veterans' Week, it is our responsibility as Canadians to remember the sacrifices and achievements of those who served and those who continue to serve our country," said Minister Blaney. "The Veterans Matter mobile app is another way our Government is engaging Canadians in remembrance."

The free application is designed to provide a simple connection to:

  • Veterans Affairs Canada social media communities on Facebook, YouTube and Twitter;
  • geo-targeted event and office maps to community events and Veterans Affairs Canada offices; and
  • services and benefits information online.

"Our Government is making it easier for our Veterans and their families to get the information they need by providing them with a more hassle-free service," said Minister Blaney. "Our mobile app instantly connects Veterans and their families to the information they need on programs and services offered by Veterans Affairs Canada."
