Home Show Season is upon Us

February 27, 2021

Each spring here in Dufferin-Caledon we eagerly look forward to two spring home shows. They officially kick off the season and provide us with a variety of ideas for home improvements, renovations, gardening, and personal wellness. They also showcase the many outstanding products and services that can be found across Dufferin-Caledon. There’s always something for every interest and age at the home shows. Be sure to mark your calendar for these not to be missed events!

The first home show to take place in Dufferin-Caledon this spring will be the Orangeville Lions Club’s 21st annual Home and Garden Show. The show will take place from Friday, March 31 to Sunday, April 02, 2021 at the Orangeville Fairgrounds (247090 Side Road 5, Mono). Visitors to the home show can enjoy free admission and parking.

For the 2017 Lions Home and Garden Show, there will be 220 booths represented by 150 vendors, who will be displaying products and services to meet every home improvement project, ranging from renovations to gardening; landscaping; heating and air conditioning; and real estate. The Orangeville Lions Club has also set aside 20 booths available for non-profit organizations which provide invaluable services to our community. Local artisans can also be found at this show.

A memorable part of the show is the Orangeville Lions Food Booth where you and your loved ones can treat yourselves to delicious hamburgers, hotdogs, sausage on a bun, and their ever-popular French fries. All proceeds from the Lions Home and Garden Show assist the Orangeville Lions Club in continuing its most important work in our community.

The next home show taking place in Dufferin-Caledon this spring is the 35th annual Caledon Home and Lifestyle Show, hosted by the Caledon Chamber of Commerce. The show will take place from Friday, April 21 to Sunday, April 23, 2021 at the Don Sheardown Memorial Arena (Albion Bolton Community Centre) at 150 Queen Street South, Bolton. Admission and parking for visitors to the home show are free.

This long-running annual event features a considerable number of exhibitors under one roof and attracts visitors from all over Caledon and surrounding areas. The show features a wide range of exhibitors offering various local products and services, including: real estate; professional electricians; residential and industrial garage door specialists; bin and dumpster rentals; roofing; heating and air conditioning; renovations; patio coverings; and tree services; to name a few.

The Caledon Home and Lifestyle Show also includes many other exciting activities throughout the weekend, including: a penny raffle, contests, prizes, and product demonstrations. This year, the Caledon Home & Lifestyle Show will be partnering with the Friends of the Library and their annual Monster Book Sale. In addition, Enbridge and an electrical consortium will be present where visitors can learn about home safety (i.e. recognizing the smell of natural gas) and reducing hydro bills. A small Midway will be present for young visitors to the show. Visitors can also expect local organizations to be present hosting events to support community groups.

I invite you to stop by my exhibitor booth at each of the home shows to learn more about the various federal government services my constituency offices can assist you and your loved ones with, including: information on passports; citizenship and immigration matters; the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA); and much more.

Be sure to mark your calendar for both the Orangeville Lions Club’s Home and Garden Show and the Caledon Home and Lifestyle Show. They are wonderful community events and present all of us with an opportunity to see the many terrific products and services available in Dufferin-Caledon to tackle any spring project we may have. If you don’t have any spring projects in mind, these shows will surely inspire you!
