Fall Fairs Coming Soon
After what’s been a very long and hot summer, the cooler temperatures of fall are a welcome change. There are many other wonderful aspects of fall to look forward to, including: the harvest, changing leaves, and of course, fall fairs. Here in Dufferin-Caledon, we welcome several fall fairs each year. They can be found throughout the riding and promise to offer something to every interest and age group. It’s a wonderful annual tradition which celebrates our communities and thriving agricultural industry in this riding.
The first fall fair to kick off the season is the Orangeville Fall Fair, hosted by the Orangeville Agricultural Society. It will take place from August 31 to September 02, 2021 at the Orangeville Fairgrounds located at 247090, 5 Sideroad, Mono, ON. There is a wide selection of activities and exhibits including: live entertainment; a truck and tractor pull; a pet show; a midway; a horseshoe pitch competition; a kiddie tractor pull; livestock shows; agricultural displays; and home craft displays; an indoor marketplace; food vendors; and much more.
The next two fall fairs to add to your calendar are the Brampton Fall Fair and the Shelburne Fall Fair. The Brampton Fall Fair, hosted by the Region of Peel Agricultural Society, will take place from September 13 to September 16, 2021 at the Society’s Fairgrounds located at 12942 Heart Lake Road, Caledon. Visitors to this fair may look forward to many exciting and interesting events and activities, such as: mini tractor pulls; horse exhibits; a dog show; a demolition derby; falconry exhibits; barrel racing; a midway; vendors; livestock shows; home craft displays; pigeon and small animal judgings; and an agricultural education area.
The Shelburne Fall Fair also takes place over the weekend of September 14 to September 16, 2018. This annual fair, hosted by the Shelburne District Agricultural Society, will be held at the Society’s Fairgrounds (Highway 10 North of 89 to Fiddle Park Lane). There is lots to see and do at this terrific fair, including: exhibits; cattle, horse, and sheep shows; a car show; a demolition derby; lawn tractor races; auctions; vendors; food; entertainment; and much more.
There are still two more fall fairs to enjoy before the fall fair season comes to a close in Dufferin-Caledon. The first is the Grand Valley Fall Fair, which takes place from September 21 to September 23, 2018. It’s hosted by the Grand Valley Agricultural Society and will take place at 90 Main Street North, Grand Valley. This fair has a full schedule of exciting events and activities for the whole family, including: a demolition derby; a Fair Ambassador competition; live entertainment; garden tractor pulls; a kids baking workshop; a colouring workshop; livestock shows; a large farm tractor pull; a petting zoo and pony rides; a craft demo; a Human Hamsterball Challenge; flower displays; vendors; concessions; and exhibits.
The last fall fair taking place during the fall fair season is the Bolton Fall Fair, which also occurs the weekend of September 21 to September 23, 2018. The fair, hosted by the Albion Bolton Agricultural Society, will take place at the Society’s fairgrounds located at 150 Queen Street South, Bolton. You’re sure to have a wonderful time at this fair with the many activities and events scheduled, including: a midway; a bike rally; a demolition derby; Caledon Cruisers Car Show; a pet show; 4-H garden tractor and open pull; a pancake breakfast; Farmers Olympics; livestock shows; an eating contest; a flower show; home craft and produce exhibits and competitions; and much more.
