Canada Day Celebrations

June 22, 2021

Canada Day is a celebration of all that is great about our country – it honours our past, our present, and our future. Our Government is proud to celebrate Canada’s rich history, diverse natural and cultural heritage, strong values, and many accomplishments.

Our Government is committed to building a stronger and more prosperous Canada for years to come. This is why we are helping create jobs and opportunities for all Canadians, while keeping taxes low and balancing the budget. We are helping make our streets and communities safer. We are making historic infrastructure investments in communities across Canada. We are conserving Canada’s rich natural beauty. We are also protecting and promoting Canadian values of freedom, democracy, and the rule of law in Canada and abroad.

In Canada there is so much to be proud of and in celebration of that, Dufferin-Caledon is hosting numerous events taking place on July 1st which help to represent this remarkable country and all of the residents living here.

The Canada day festivities taking place in Dufferin-Caledon include Downey’s Farm on Heart Lake Road in Caledon with delicious food, great company, and tremendous patriotism. For more information, please visit http://www.downeysfarm.com.  Alongside Downey’s Farm, is the Caledon Agricultural Society located at the Caledon Fairgrounds in Caledon Village. Visitors can expect live entertainment, classic cars, a petting zoo, and so much more. For more information, please visit http://caledonfair.ca. Following that celebration, I will be co-hosting a special Canadian Citizenship ceremony with the Orangeville Legion at 1:00 p.m. right at the Orangeville Legion (7 John Street). This is a wonderful and memorable service, as candidates for Canadian citizenship will be taking their oath of citizenship on Canada Day! In addition to the ceremony, the Legion’s official Canada Day ceremony begins at 2:30 p.m. followed by a big BBQ with music, refreshments, and mingling. For more information, please call 519-942-4895. The events continue with Amaranth’s celebrations on 6th line, including fantastic food provided by the Orangeville Lions Club, along with short speeches and entertainment.
