BOLTON, ON – David Tilson, Member of Parliament for Dufferin-Caledon, together with the Caledon Chamber of Commerce, hosted the second annual “Commerce in the Constituency” for the SME business community. The event was held in the Chamber’s boardroom on Thursday, October 13th.
Many local small business owners participated in the event, which included presentations on the NEXUS program, incorporation, as well as patents and trade-marking. Special guest speakers included representatives from the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA), Corporations Canada, and the Canadian Intellectual Property Office.
Mr. Tilson and Chamber President and CEO, Kelly Darnley, officially welcomed everyone to the event and provided an overview of the program before the presentations began. “It’s a pleasure to once again be working with the Chamber on this event, now in its second year, to deliver valuable information on federal programs and services to our local business community.” said Mr. Tilson. “Our Government has continued to support the needs of small businesses since they drive our economy and create jobs for Canadians. By offering events like this in our community, we are assisting them in their efforts to innovate, invest, and grow, which benefits everyone.”
“We are extremely fortunate in Caledon to have such an accessible Member of Parliament.” Mr. Tilson has always demonstrated a willingness to bring information about federal resources to the doorstep of Caledon businesses,” said Ms. Darnley. “The Caledon Chamber will continue to work together with his office to bring timely relevant information to our business community.”
