It's Home Show Time
March 24, 2021
Spring is upon us and that means its home show time in Dufferin-Caledon. We are extremely fortunate to have two annual home shows each spring: one in Dufferin County and one in Caledon. The home shows display many of our community's finest businesses and organizations and the many outstanding services and products they offer. The first home show in Dufferin-Caledon this spring will be the Orangeville Lions Club Home and Garden Show, which will take place from Friday, April 4th to Sunday, April 6th. It will be held at the Orangeville Agricultural Building and Fairgrounds, in Mono Township (off Highway 10, just north of Orangeville). There were over 100 exhibitors at last year's show, ranging from flooring specialists to pottery, to furniture restoration. This year promises to be just as diverse and exciting with the expansion of the show, which includes a new Food Court, featuring pizza. There will also be the Orangeville Lions Club food booth, as well as “Merv’s Baked Potatoes.” Please also note that the hours of this Home Show have been extended to 9:00 p.m. on Saturday. For more information, please feel free to contact the Chair of the Home Show, Jim Harrington, at 519-941-5826 or visit the Club's website at www.orangevillelions.org. The second home show will take place later in April. This is the Caledon Home Show. It is hosted by the Caledon Chamber of Commerce. It will be held from Friday, April 18th to Sunday, April 20th at the Don Sheardown Memorial Arena (Albion Bolton Community Centre), in Bolton. It has become a very popular community event featuring approximately 80 vendors and draws approximately 4,000 to 5,000 visitors from all of Caledon and surrounding areas including: Orangeville, Brampton, Woodbridge, Shelburne, and Tottenham. Each year the Chamber attracts various exhibitors offering many local products and services including: photography, decking, and real estate. The Caledon Home Show also includes many other exciting activities throughout the weekend including: a penny raffle, door prize draws, live entertainment, demonstrations, and a bar-b-que. For more information on this home show, please feel free to contact the Caledon Chamber of Commerce at 905-857-7393 or visit their website at www.caledonchamber.com. I'm very pleased to be participating in both home shows by having a booth in each. I invite you to come by to say hello and to learn more about the various Federal Government services available to you and your family. I will have information on such areas as: passports, Income Securities, the ecoEnergy Program, Employment Insurance, and Citizenship and Immigration. I encourage you to kick off the spring by visiting at least one of these outstanding home shows and see the fantastic range of organizations and businesses we have right here in Dufferin-Caledon that can assist many of your upcoming spring projects. I look forward to seeing you there! |
