Tilson Hosts 10th Annual Bolton Seniors Information Expo with Caledon Seniors' Centre

BOLTON, Ontario – David Tilson, Member of Parliament for Dufferin-Caledon, hosted his tenth annual Bolton Seniors Information Expo together with the Caledon Seniors’ Centre today at the Centre’s Bolton location.

“I’m pleased to work with the Caledon Seniors’ Centre to bring this important annual event to the local senior community,” said Mr. Tilson. “It has grown considerably over the last ten years and has continued to bring valuable, relevant information to seniors. Our Government also shares this commitment and to improve the well-being and quality of life of seniors all across Canada.”

Members of the Caledon Seniors’ Centre, as well as members of Caledon’s senior community attended the event to hear presentations on four topics: Food Safety – Canada’s Food Guide and Using the Nutrition Facts Table; Home Fire and Life Safety Presentation: Prevention, Detection, and Escape; The Art of De-cluttering and Downsizing Your Stuff; and Working Together to Keep Our Senior Drivers Safe.

Special guest speakers on the selected topics included: Shirley M. Chalouh (Health Canada); Scott Gilbert and Dave Pelayo (Caledon Fire & Emergency Services); Brenda Alderdice (Downsizing Diva Caledon-Dufferin); Eva Georgiou (Serco Canada Inc. [DriveTest]); and D. Brent Swain (Ministry of Transportation). After the presentations had concluded, Egan Funeral Home – Bolton provided lunch for attendees.

Mr. Tilson performed the role emcee for the event.
