Tilson attends the grand opening of the Orangeville Service Canada Centre for Youth

Orangeville – On May 23rd 2007, David Tilson, Member of Parliament for Dufferin – Caledon attended the official opening of the Service Canada Centre for Youth in Orangeville. The office is fully functioning and ready to provide support for local youth and businesses with their summer employment needs.

“There is an escalating demand for skilled, educated and adaptable youth for the current diverse state of the workforce. The skills, talents, applied knowledge, critical thinking and creativity of our young people are pivotal to the future success of this country. The Orangeville Service Canada Centre for Youth is an excellent aid for the youth of this community to assist in their entry into the ever-demanding workforce.” remarked Tilson.

The ribbon cutting ceremony marked the beginning of a safe and strong link between the youth and employers of Orangeville. The centre provides young people with ample job opportunities, advice regarding interviews, resume building workshops and job-posting services to employers.

The Service Canada Centre for Youth works with local employers to help students gain skills and valuable job experience through summer placements. The knowledge and understanding achieved will continue to help our youth for the rest of their lives.

The Orangeville Service Canada Centre for Youth is located at 210 Broadway Ave. Their hours of operation are 8:30am to 4:00 pm.
