M.P. Tilson Visits Bolton’s True Blue Lodge #98
BOLTON, ON — David Tilson, Member of Parliament for Dufferin–Caledon, recently visited the True Blue Masonic Lodge #98, in Bolton, following its 150th anniversary on March 5, 2008.
“I sincerely congratulate the Lodge on this remarkable milestone and for the many significant contributions the Lodge has made to our community and across Canada. We are very proud and thankful to have this organization as part of our community,” said Mr. Tilson.
During his visit, Mr. Tilson learned of the immense history of the Lodge’s location on Nancy Street and read out his own personal greetings and those of Prime Minister Stephen Harper. Other greetings arrived from Governor General, Her Excellency Michaëlle Jean, Ontario Premier Dalton McGuinty, Ontario Lt. Governor David Onley, M.P.P. Sylvia Jones, and Caledon Mayor Marolyn Morrison. Gifts were also presented to the Lodge from members Bro. Wayne Dobson, W. Bro. Peter Wohlert, Bro. James Becksted, as well as the membership of Peel Lodge in Caledon East.
Founded in March 1858, True Blue members have been meeting at their Nancy Street building since the mid-1870's. The Lodge members were interested to learn that Mr. Tilson's late father was a member of a Lodge in Toronto at the Davenport Road Masonic Temple.
