BOLTON, ON – David Tilson, Member of Parliament for Dufferin-Caledon, together with the Caledon Seniors’ Council, hosted their 2nd annual Seniors Information Expo, on Friday, October 16th, at St. James Anglican Church, in Caledon East.
Many local residents and members of the Seniors’ Council came out to the Expo, to take in the many presentations on a wide range of topics selected by the Seniors’ Council including: Easy Ways Seniors Can Stay in Their Homes Longer and More Safely; E-mailing and Safe Internet Use; 2009 Tax Information; and Healthy Eating for Cardiovascular Conditions. Special guest speakers included representatives from local and governmental organizations including: Handyman to the Rescue, Karealot Health Services Inc., FileBank, and the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA).
Mr. Tilson was on hand to comment on the importance of bringing the Senior Information Expo to Caledon East, “I’m pleased that I could bring the Expo to Caledon East, as Caledon is a large area geographically and can present challenges for seniors to travel from one end to the other. By having one Expo in Caledon East and one in Bolton, we are making relevant information more easily accessible to our local senior population and in turn, hopefully helping them make valuable improvements in their daily lives.”
