BOLTON, Ontario
– David Tilson, Member of Parliament for Dufferin-Caledon, on behalf of the Honourable James Moore, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages, today announced funding for Fenn Publishing Company Ltd. for publishing support, which rewards eligible Canadian-owned and -controlled book publishers, based on their sales of Canadian-authored titles.

“The Canadian book publishing industry is an important component of Canada’s economy and contributes thousands of jobs to the arts and culture sector,” said Minister Moore. “Our Government continues to support Canadian authors and publishers, to ensure that this sector remains strong and that readers everywhere continue to have access to talented Canadian authors and their works.”

When asked for comment on the funding, Harold B. Fenn, Chairman of Fenn Publishing Company Ltd. stated, “We are grateful and acknowledge the support of our publishing programme from the Government of Canada through the Canada Book Fund. The funding provided allows us to publish and market Canadian voices both in Canada and around the world.”

The Government of Canada has provided funding of $143,216 through the Support for Organizations funding stream of the Canada Book Fund (CBF). The principal objective of the CBF is to ensure access to a diverse range of Canadian-authored books in Canada and abroad.
