Fall is just around the corner and this typically signals changing leaves, children returning to school, and fall fairs. The fall fair is a long-standing and beloved Canadian tradition, dating back more than a century. Fall Fairs celebrate the best of each community where they’re held by offering: amusements, harvest celebrations, carnivals, and midway entertainment for the entire family. Here in Dufferin-Caledon, we are fortunate to have many fall fairs to enjoy during the month of September.

The Orangeville Agricultural Society will be hosting its 158th Annual Fall Fair at the Orangeville Fairgrounds. The fair will open on September 2nd and will conclude on September 5th. This year’s fair will include: a horse pull competition, a giant midway, a 4-H Dufferin-Wellington Holstein Show, a truck and tractor pull, a draft horse show, and a town crier competition. For more information on this fair, please visit: www.orangevillefairgrounds.ca.
The next fair to mark on your calendar is the 145th Annual Shelburne Fall Fair, which begins September 15th and ends on September 18th. It’s hosted by the Shelburne and District Agricultural Society and is always full of exciting events including: a demolition derby, an antique and class car show, lawn tractor races, an antique farm machinery display, a dog show, a heavy horse pull, an antique tractor parade, and a bicycle draw. The 158th Brampton Fall Fair also begins on September 15th and concludes on September 18th.
