It’s Fall Fair Season
August 28, 2021
Week of August 28 – September 01, 2021 The fall season is upon us once again. The leaves are starting to turn and the kids will be back in school shortly. It has been a fantastic summer filled with warm, although unsettled weather and many excellent events across Dufferin-Caledon. Although it is difficult to say goodbye to the summer, we have much to look forward to this fall right here at home, as fall fair season is just around the corner! Fall fairs are an excellent time to encourage and witness community spirit. They offer something to all age groups - whether it be a ride on the ferris wheel, eating cotton candy, viewing farm animals, or competing in preserve contests. I would like to use this week’s journal to highlight the many fairs we can enjoy right here in Dufferin-Caledon this fall. The Orangeville Agricultural Society will be hosting its annual fall fair at the Orangeville Fairgrounds. The fair will open on Friday, September 1st and will wrap up on Sunday, September 4th. This year’s fair will include: cattle and horse shows, entertainment, quilt displays, horticulture, antiques, various rides, a demolition derby and a tractor pull. For more information on this fair, please call 519-942-9597. The Caledon Fall Fair, which is hosted by the Caledon Agricultural Society, will be held the following weekend (Friday, September 8th – Sunday, September 10th) at the fairgrounds in Caledon Village. The fair will offer various events and activities including: a demolition derby, tractor pull, various rides and prizes, a parade, exhibits, and livestock displays. This fair is presented by the Shelburne & District Agricultural Society and is always a highlight of the fall. It will be held from Friday, September 22nd to Sunday, September 24th. It is hosted annually by the Albion and Bolton Agricultural Society and will be held at the Albion Bolton Fairgrounds, in Bolton. This year’s fair schedule is packed with many events and activities including: antique tractors, baby show, cruisers car show, demolition derby, fair ambassador and junior ambassador competitions, homecraft competitions, a kiddie tractor pull competition, livestock shows, a pet show, and much more. For more information on this fair, please call 905-857-4805. Please be sure to also check out the Grand Valley Fall Fair, which is held on the same weekend (Friday, September 22nd to Sunday, September 24th). Each year it is hosted by the Grand Valley Agricultural Society and promises to provide great entertainment for the whole family.
