M.P. TILSON THANKS VOLUNTEERS
May 25, 2021

BOLTON, ON – David Tilson, the Member of Parliament for Dufferin-Caledon, invited the volunteers who coordinated this year’s Community Volunteer Income Tax Program (CVITP) in Caledon, to his Bolton constituency office on May 24th, to thank them on behalf of the residents of Caledon, for their time and invaluable assistance to residents of Caledon.

This is the fourth year for the CVITP in Caledon. The program was organized and operated by four volunteers from Caledon with the support of the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA). The volunteers shared their thoughts on the success of the 2007 program with Mr. Tilson during their visit. Approximately 155 Caledon residents were served during the program this year, which ran from March to April 30th.

When asked about the success of the program, Mr. Tilson made the following comment, “Each year that I’ve been M.P. of Dufferin-Caledon, I’ve noted the increasing popularity of this essential service across Caledon. We are extremely fortunate to have such outstanding volunteers devoting their invaluable time and energy to those who need assistance with completing their tax returns. I sincerely commend and applaud their continued efforts to help members of our community.”

The Caledon Community Volunteer Income Tax Program assists eligible individuals who are unable to complete their income tax and benefit returns themselves and are unable to pay for assistance.
